Couple Reaches Climax For First Time |
SASKATOON (SBP) – After years of anguish and careful planning, John and Rebecca Patterson of Saskatoon finally realized the dream they had fantasized about since their wedding night on June 4, 1986.
Climax.
“I tell ya,” John Patterson said proudly, “It really made me feel like a real man again.” Patterson then donned a cowboy hat and gave a pose even a legend like Clint Eastwood would have envied.
“It’s been something that I have always wanted to do since I was a teenager,” Rebecca added, blushing like a shy and innocent teenage girl.
The couple didn’t mind sharing their story of accomplishment after years of waiting and yearning. They explained how it was “tough to keep thinking about it and never really getting there” and how John thought, “it just might never happen”.
And then it happened.
“Hell!” John added boisterously, “I got the ride of a lifetime! She was a little apprehensive at first but man oh man when she got goin’ it was like nothing in the world could stop me.”
“It was just the look on his face,” Rebecca beamed, “it was worth a million dollars.”
“I would ride her again if I got the chance!” John finished, “not many city slickers like myself get to act like a real life cowboy for a day.”
The Patterson’s visit to Climax, a small town in the southwest corner of Saskatchewan (on Google Maps), was highlighted by a visit to a farm where local rancher Josh Ellson offered to complete John’s dream of living life like a cowboy. This included riding a mustang.
“It was real simple,” Ellson explained, “I just told him to put on the gloves and mount her. Just keep yer balance, that’s all you gotta do. Misty ain’t gonna harm no one. She is a nice tame piece of livestock.”
Ellson wondered aloud if his dreams could be fulfilled for one day:
“Kinda makes me wanna go to the big city and shoot some gang members or break into a liquor store, you know?” Ellson said, “Just get that feelin of the big city just for one day.”
The successful vacation has given the Pattersons a new view of southwestern Saskatchewan. When asked where the couple plans to go next year, the answer was unanimous:
“We’re going to Big Beaver!”
